OpenTTD wird erwachsen

OpenTTD ist seit langem schon eines meiner Lieblingsspiele. Das eigentlich recht simple Spielprinzip lässt sich recht stark erweitern, die Pixelgrafik ist zwar nicht jedermanns Sache, ich finde sie jedoch großartig. Dazu läuft die Software noch auf ungefähr jedem System (Linux, Windows, OSX, OS/2, Symbian und ungefähr jeder Toaster), vom Mehrspielermodus gar nicht erst zu reden.

Bis vor kurzem hatte die ganze Sache noch einen mehr als großen Haken: Zum Spielen brauchte man Daten von Transport Tycoon, die Installation war mit ein wenig Fummelei verbunden. Man konnte zwar mit Ersatzgrafiken und ohne Ton spielen, aber die Installation war immer noch umständlich. Bis vor kurzem eben, denn die 1.0 stable rückt näher. Wer die testing-Version (RC 1) benutzen möchte kommt auch jetzt von in den Genuss. OpenTTD liegt in den Quellen vor(»openttd«), danach muss noch »openttd-opengfx« und »openttd-opensfx« installiert werden, und schon kann es losgehen. Heute Nacht kam der RC 2 raus, welcher als Standalone-Programm über die Internetseite von OpenTTD bezogen werden kann.

Videoconversion for the Nokia 5800XM

…the simple way!
Again, this script is very basic, but works well (for me).

1. Download the script
2. Make it executable with “chmod +x convert_5800″
3. as root, copy it to /usr/bin
4. run it with the files you want tu convert as parameters: “convert_5800 file1 [file2 file3 file4 ...]“
5. Your new file will be saved in the same directory the input file is stored.
6. Optional: Add a macro. In Thunar “Edit/Custom actions”; add the command “convert_5800 %F” (mind the capital F to enable multi-file conversion). This should be similar with Nautilus

You need mencoder (provided with mplayer) for the conversion. If libnotify is installed, a neat notification will pop up when the conversion of each file and the whole job is done. » Zu den Kommentaren »
